What is CORA Mobile Edge (ME)?
An on-device solution that rights sizes content for specific mobile devices and manages data use while on cellular and roaming. CORA ME is NOT A WIFI off-loader or a browser-based compression tool. Click here to learn more about what CORA ME is and what it isn’t.
How much data can CORA ME save?
In multiple User Acceptance Tests, we’ve consistently seen at least 80% reduction in data usage on data intensive streaming content. Use our calculator to see how much you could potentially save across your network!
How do I get CORA ME on my subscribers’ devices?
There are multiple ways to get CORA ME on your subscribers’ devices. Deployment options are not mutually exclusive. We can work with you on various deployment operators to reach the maximum number of subscribers’ devices.
- CORA ME Operator Apps – Allow your subscribers to download your Operator instance of the CORA ME mobile app via SMS, email, QR code, etc.
- CORA ME SDKs – Embed CORA ME smart content shaping libraries into an existing mobile app that you are already deploying to subscribers.
- CORA ME for Cellular Routers and FixedWireless Access – Uses the same CORA ME technology to rightsize content for all mobile devices accessing the cellular routers and FWA base stations.
- CORA ME for Mobile Core (In development) – Uses Rest APIs to integrate CORA MEdevice deployment and management onto the mobile core network for ultimate
How much space will the CORA ME app use on my subscribers’ phones?
iOS – 25.3 Mbyte and Android – 26.4 Mbytes
For comparison, Outlook 365 for iOS is 278.5 MB (10 times larger). These sizes are for standalone CORA ME apps, if CORA ME is integrated via SDK or APK, they are even smaller.
Is your mobile app approved by the Google Play Store and Apple App Store?
Yes, we are approved by both app stores! The same smart-shaping CORA Libraries that power CORA Mobile Edge apps in the stores are the same libraries that can be embedded via SPK and APK or a white-label app made for the Operator.
What about privacy and security for our subscribers using CORA ME in any iteration?
No routing of any traffic from the device to another location ever happens. The only authentication that is done is using the mobile device number and we use a one-time password that the device has been provisioned for CORA ME. After authentication, all connections between the device and the app’s back end are TLS encrypted. The only performance analytics collected are the stream content provider, the stream’s duration, and the amount of data used for the stream. For example: Netflix, for 45 minutes for 288 megabytes.
In addition, we have successfully completed a third-party security assessment based on ISO27001:2022 and OWASP criteria. You can trust that your subscribers’ privacy and information are safe!
How do you log data traffic over the VPN?
We don’t use the VPN in the traditional sense. There is no remote server. We use the VPN to connect the network layer of the device to our libraries that do all of the shaping and collecting ananomyzied performance analytics.
What data traffic is allowed through the VPN?
Only data video is passed through the on-device VPN. Any other data is bypassed.
How is the issue of VPN throttling resolved?
We’re not using a tunnel or server, so there is no issue of VPN throttling.
